Uber and the ASPCA are Bringing You Kittens on National Cat Day
Kittens on demand? Yes, please
Cheezburger, Uber and the ASPCA are bringing kittens to you on National Cat Day!
If you live in Seattle, New York, San Francisco, Chicago, Washington D.C., Phoenix or Austin and want to participate, here are the details:
Download the Uber app, sign up with the code KITTEN and request the "KITTENS" option in your app! If you're in NYC or DC enter the promo code KITTENSNYC or KITTENSDC and request! If kittens are available, they'll be on their way for snuggles. Each delivery is $30, but you can donate however much you want.
As with last year, the event is in celebration of National Cat Day which is meant to encourage people to adopt kitties from shelters rather than buying them from breeders. All proceeds from the event will be donated to the shelters collaborating on the event.
Uber drivers will transport the adoptable kittens, who will be provided and chaperoned by shelter volunteers at every stop. Each kitten visit will last 15 minutes and those interested in adoption will be able to receive more information from the shelter representatives on hand.
Kitten deliveries will be taking place from 12pm-4pm in all cities.
If you don't live in one of the 7 cities listed, or are unable to have kittens delivered for any reason, you can still get in on the fun today participating in our "Cats Hard at Work" giveaway contest! We'll be giving away prizes to the top ten submitters who send in images, gifs or videos of their cats "hard at work". Head to the blog for details on how to play!
Be sure to check back on Lolcats, the I Can Has Animals main page and our Facebook, Twitter, Vine and Google+ accounts, for a continuous flow of kitten shenanigan updates throughout the day!
