Hemingway’s Cat Love
Descendents of Ernest Hemingway’s many cats still live at The Hemingway Home & Museum in Key West Florida. Some of the approximately 60 cats residing there are polydactyl, descendents of a six-toed cat given to Hemingway by a ship’s captain. Hemingway’s love of cats has even inspired a book, Hemingway’s Cats: An Illustrated Biography (2006, Pineapple Press) by Carlene Fredericka Brennen.
