Tuffy was a cat of the streets for about a year before we finally earned his trust and let me hold him, so we don't actually know his "birth date", only that he was about 7 years old when he passed away. Then we took him to the vet to be neutered and microchipped and he became a household cat with other cat "siblings". He would wait by the back door when he would hear my car in the driveway. He slept with me, letting me put my arm over him and would tug at the covers to be let under them in the colder months. He was my shower buddy, meowing loudly when I would wash my hair as I was taking too long. He was the king of being a "quilt killer" - he would love to attack and grab the quilts and kick and beat the crap out of them. On February 6, 2014, he was laying on my bed, waiting for me to get my clothes for our shower. He coughed a couple of times, I went to him and he stopped breathing. We did CPR all the way to the ER vet, but to no avail. An aneurism killed him.
