In Ancient Egypt, cats were worshipped as gods and installed in temples (my cat is hoping to get back to that way of living shortly). Perhaps a step in the right direction is the Museo La Casa De Los Gatos, a Spanish museum housing the eclectic, interesting and cat-obsessed collection of Vera Novoselova and Alexandr Gvozdev. Covering three floors, the museum is has more cat things than you can shake a stick at, investigating the muse that cats have been to humans for centuries.
