Meet Salem
This photo was taken a few weeks after his 4th surgery since June, 2013. Despite being attacked and nearly killed by an unfamiliar dog, he awoke from surgery purring at me. I can only imagine the amount of pain he was in, yet he knew how broken I was to see him like that and comforted me in a way I'll never forget.
