The Japanese phenomenon is coming to North America! KitTea, a cat cafe, will be opening Summer 2014, if all goes according to plan. This is definitely an establishment after our own hearts. The founders Courtney Hatt and David Braginsky have partnered with a Wonder Cat Rescue and Give Me Shelter, who will be assisting them in selecting cats whose personalities are up for the social task. All of the cats will be up for adoption, so not only will there be a place to go hang out with cats and have a cup of tea, but the cats will be meeting potential owners. They will have no more than 10 cats in the establishment, as per The Association of Shelter Veterinarians' standards and guidelines. The cats will also have a designated "cat's only" space where they can take a break from the action, when they need. There is also going to be an entire scratching wall, which is any cat's dream come true!

KitTea is hoping to create a special space for cats and cat-lovers to come together.
