In just 5 short months, Lily’s kidney values went from perfect to showing kidney failure in addition to a cancerous mass in her lungs. In her last few weeks, she lost so much weight that her ribs were showing and it looked as if her sides were caved in. I knew that she had had enough. Her quality of life wasn’t good. She loved strings, ribbons, rolling around on the patio, and kneading soft blankets. Her human sister was her “person”. I like to think that she’s happy and healthy in Heaven.
