Is it Safe to Feed My Cat Raw Eggs?
Facts on raw egg consumption
This one is controversial. Most healthy adult cats are resistant to the e. coli and salmonella sometimes found in uncooked eggs, so the presence of bacteria poses no problem for most cats. However, the raw egg whites contain the protein avidin, which blocks the absorption of vitamin B in cats. This is not fatal, but can give them skin problems and dull the shine of their coats. Both of these potential problems can be avoided by cooking the eggs.
