It's happening! What's shaping up to be the coolest cat event ever is debuting June 6–7 at the Reef in Los Angeles. Taking its name inspiration from Comic-Con, the notoriously weird and wonderful convention for everything comic related, CatCon LA is promising a similar convergence of devotees, though in this case, cat fans, aka the best people out there! The event promises the coolest cat merchandise and so much more. Think celebrity appearances (and by celebrity, we mean celebrity-cat), a rumoured cat-manicure booth so cat-loving fashionistas can get their nails cat-ified (sign us up!), and more surprises yet to be unveiled. A series of panels will be offered with some pretty darn impressive luminaries—Ben Huh, founder of Cheezburger, and Will Braden, the man behind the existential musings of Henri Le Chat Noir, are just two of the prominent presenters who will be on hand. What will likely turn out to be the most sought-after event of the weekend, though,  is the meet-and-greet with everyone's favourite celebrity cat Lil Bub, who will be in attendance with owner Mike Bridavsky. 150 lucky attendees will get to say hello to the internet’s top dog, er, cat, up close and in person. We’re counting down the days. With big sponsors on board (like Modern Cat magazine!), this is going to be the real deal.

We’ll be there, will you? Check it out at catconla.com. Tickets for the convention run $40 for the weekend and are available through showclix.com.
